The Beach Boys Bring California Dreamin’ To NYC

About an hour into their set at New York’s Beacon Theatre last night (May 9), the Beach Boys hit their stride, like a surfer catching that big, juicy wave. Though the band’s members – who reunited for a new album and 50th anniversary tour this spring – are certainly not mounting surf boards anymore, they proved last night that when it comes to surf-rock, they’re still the kings.

Andy Warhol ‘Double Elvis’ Painting Fetches $37 Million At Auction

They were both kings of their respective mediums. Elvis Presley was the king of rock and roll and Andy Warhol the king of pop art. And while they may both be gone, Presley’s likeness and Warhol’s work have brought in over $37 million at Sotheby’s in New York City today in the form of the painting “Double Elvis (Ferus Type)”.

Jimmy Fallon Snags Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen & More For Second Album

Jimmy Fallon has come to be known for his impressions of classic rockers like Neil Young and Bob Dylan, but for his second album, the Late Night host and Saturday Night Live alum recruited music stars instead of just imitating them. On the album, titled Blow Your Pants Off, Fallon gets an assist from Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, Justin Timberlake, Dave Matthews and more.
